Clackmannanshire is the smallest county in Scotland the region is dominated by Ochil Hills or River Forth. This region is very picturesque and offers many walking adventures that can be taken advantage off from hiring a holiday cottage or self-catering apartment. Alloa was famous for brewing beer and Clackmannanshire at one time hosted many mills for such a small area. Alva was known for the weaving industry, which can be seen at the visitors centre. Alva Glen is a heavily wooded area that leads up to the Ochil hills and is steeped in history from as Pictish and Roman times.
